I need to use a rubber mallet to knock the fuel cap onto the fuel tank neck right? I think there might be a layer of paint on the tank neck or something, because the cap didn't just slide on.

And fitted. Needed to use a mallet to get it on, but it does look pretty cool. Thanks Dion Smile

Don't think i packaged that well enough looking at the shape of the box but it was only a pleasure helping a mate out with taking care of their pride and joy.

So long time no update. A while back I gave the twin carb bodies for ultrasonic cleaning and they have come back very clean.

I also gave the linkages and other metallic components for plating and now they are nice and shiny Smile

Now to assemble with the rebuild kit and sandblast the heat shield and air filter box.

Top job on the carbs bud. They look new. Showing us the way.

So it turns out I have no idea how to centre the jets, even with the excellent advice from a friend and multiple (>15) attempts, I failed to centre the jets. Furthermore, I've also apparently have no idea how to spray paint. I sandblasted the heat shield and air filter housing and when I spray painted the surface, it looked absolutely horrendous. Anyway, I shall try again.

(P.S. I know that it isn't really build related to describe one's failures, but this is more of a diary of build related activities, so I figured it was acceptable Tongue )

Keep at it Vinay. We all started somewhere and still continue to learn along the way.
