I need to use a rubber mallet to knock the fuel cap onto the fuel tank neck right? I think there might be a layer of paint on the tank neck or something, because the cap didn't just slide on. And fitted. Needed to use a mallet to get it on, but it does look pretty cool. Thanks Dion ![]() RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - Miniac - 11-14-2016 (10-25-2016, 05:31 PM)Vinay-RS Wrote: Finally a big thanks to Ed for sending this clay bar kit to me. Should be a good thing for the paint to get a little attention and hopefully once I get some Meguiar's Polish I will be able to remove the water spots from the roof.Don't think i packaged that well enough looking at the shape of the box but it was only a pleasure helping a mate out with taking care of their pride and joy. RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - Jared Mk3 - 11-20-2016 That cap looks good on there ![]() RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - Vinay-RS - 12-12-2016 So long time no update. A while back I gave the twin carb bodies for ultrasonic cleaning and they have come back very clean. I also gave the linkages and other metallic components for plating and now they are nice and shiny ![]() Now to assemble with the rebuild kit and sandblast the heat shield and air filter box. RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - minitim - 12-12-2016 Going to look awesome there Vinay! RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - Jared Mk3 - 12-12-2016 Post some details about the cleaning process ![]() RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - abri - 12-12-2016 Top job on the carbs bud. They look new. Showing us the way. RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - Vinay-RS - 01-11-2017 So it turns out I have no idea how to centre the jets, even with the excellent advice from a friend and multiple (>15) attempts, I failed to centre the jets. Furthermore, I've also apparently have no idea how to spray paint. I sandblasted the heat shield and air filter housing and when I spray painted the surface, it looked absolutely horrendous. Anyway, I shall try again. (P.S. I know that it isn't really build related to describe one's failures, but this is more of a diary of build related activities, so I figured it was acceptable ![]() RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - minitim - 01-12-2017 Keep at it Vinay. We all started somewhere and still continue to learn along the way.
