Jay since you keep suggesting this upgrade ![]() RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - Jared Mk3 - 10-25-2015 Are you sitting down? A brand new setup, with everything, will cost roughly R9k before shipping and duties! Second hand, you can pick them up for between R2k and R4k, depending on condition. ![]() RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - TTClubby - 10-25-2015 I still love the look of your car. While you do discs you should look at hi-lo's too, would look mean a bit closer to the ground. ![]() But be careful with better stopping power comes the desire/need for more going power ![]() RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - Vinay-RS - 10-25-2015 (10-25-2015, 03:58 PM)Jared Mk3 Wrote: Are you sitting down? Ok, so new isn't really an option right now then. I'll keep saving and looking for the parts secondhand as and when they become available. Okay Guys Just a bit of info, about two years ago I brought in a complete set of 7.5 inch brakes for a client, I under quoted by about R4000. In the end the items weigh 32 kgs for the setup and the shipping was about 180 pounds, just remember in SA at customs they charge you vat and import tax. Thus a new set of 7.5 inch brakes complete (hubs, wheel-bearings, CV Joints, discs and calipers and pads) will set you back about 390 pounds plus 180 pounds = 570 pounds * current exchange rate = R20.86 = R11890. Now RSA tax and import is about 15% thus R13700 plus which ever other hidden cost plus to clear the customs will be more bucks. This is for the MS kit with MS calipers, if you want genuine AP calipers the price will go up more. I reckon about R15000 to R16000 for a new kit.
