How is your project going? RE: My journey - DomMINIque - 05-29-2018 Nice. Was the sandblasting worth it? Considering it with my car but worried it ends up with more holes than it currently has. Body is in good condition and hence wasn't worried about any damage. The medium they used wasn't too abrasive. I stripped as far as I could (attached) and decided to Sandblast as I could not get into certain areas RE: My journey - admin - 05-30-2018 Nice work! Can u share some information on who you used for the sandblasting work and what it costed you? RE: My journey - MDG - 05-30-2018 I had the body sandblasted by "Sandblasting Boys" Dealt with Wynand 084 981 6136. http://www.sandblastingboys.co.za/ I had them blast the car and just spray a undercoat/anti rust until such time I decide on a colour. I cannot comment on their final spray work as I have not seen any of their work. However, as per a post on this forum by @Thumz regarding Sandblasting boys, that he was not too happy with the service. I will probably not use them for final spray job. I see a post from @Sooper that Sean Higgins in Midrand is excellent for spraying. RE: My journey - MDG - 05-30-2018 If anyone can recommend a good spray company or if Sandblasting boys is recommended, I'd appreciate comments. Thank you RE: My journey - DomMINIque - 05-31-2018 My comments on any spray work and I've seen a few minis which have been resprayed. If you spend enough time looking at it, you'll most likely find some imperfections unless you really willing to pay top dollar for a spray job... But then you probably won't end up driving the car on the road. RE: My journey - MDG - 05-31-2018 Hi Dominique True words spoken - And I agree top dollar is required for a perfect spray job - Which I know I cant afford. I'm just building the car for my dad, since it was a passion of his and since his passing, I want to finish it as best as I can. RE: My journey - jimmyjamjar - 06-04-2018 Looks like it had some serious speakers at some stage judging by the size of the holes in the rear parcel shelf. |
