Purple, and pink for that matter, is a brave choice. With regards to pink, if I were to choose it, it would be something like this, Furious Fuchsia - either the original or modern version :

I have considered silver, which would show the dipstick nicely, but I think the cool rocker cover would be lost. Unless I do something like a gunmetal colour of sorts?

Would anthracite/gun metal not lead back to the same concern about a dark engine being lost in a dark toned engine bay?

Yes, it does . . . I'll figure it out eventually! Smile

To keep myself occupied in this week, I thought I'd redo the jack for the car. How it started :

And after I finished :

And, the big news - I got a replacement bonnet for the car, this time in fibreglass. Really excellent product. Thank you Mr Shadwell! :

It needs a lip to be put on and the hinge mount plates, but other than that, it's perfect. Fits really nicely on the car - much better than the previous one.

How would you attach the panels to fibreglass? Glue?

RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Miniac - 12-19-2015

That bonnet looks sweet Jay, I'd personally be quite tempted to use Dzus clips to mount it as it'll be in keeping with your Jap styled theme that you're pursuing and achieving with this beautiful of yours.

Andrew suggested a polyurethane adhesive or fibreglassing the panel in.

Thanks Smile I need to decide what direction I want to go in in terms of mounting.

Finally, another big step taken today. The dash panels went from primer, to this :

Which then, became this :

So happy with that Smile

That looks really neat Jay, just need a nice period steering to finish it off and negate the need to use driving gloves.

Thanks Smile The white steering shall remain. It's unique and kind of suits the car. A black or wood steering on a white column and shroud doesn't sound lekker haha.
