Been very quiet this side for the past month. Wheeled her out last night in the rain to give her a wash. No more water in the town due to the drought, so unfortunately she has to stay dirty . . .

Been trying to work out the positioning of the driver's seat as well. Time to think of a mounting method as well now :

That Mr. Bean teddy is so cute. Perfect for a mini key.

very comfortable looking seats. I am interested to see how you end up mounting them.

RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Miniac - 02-28-2016

I'd look into using some rectangular tubing such as a 40x20mm by the applicable length and the drill it and mount some Rivnuts into it for the seats to bolt up to, I'd then have a length on 3-4mm flat bar twisted through a 90degree to mount into the original mini brackets on the crossmember and have it welded onto the rectangular tube to complete the bracket ready for paint and fitment.

RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Jared Mk3 - 02-28-2016

I'm considering having some round tube bent into the desired shape and size. The seat has threaded holes in it already, with allen head bolts. Flat bar welded onto the side of the round tube, with 3-4 different holes on, so I can adjust the seat if need be. There are already holes in the floor, so some legs coming off the frame will be bolted to the floor with a spreader plate underneath. Mount to the front as per the original mounts on the crossmember.

If that makes sense.

Sounds similar to one of the UK setups that I've seen but they just used two straight lengths of tube with spreader plates for either seat

Going for simplicity, strength and safety.
