Can't complain too much for such an original car - there are a couple other dents here and there, but that door is the worst. Probably cheaper to get another door though (11-25-2015, 09:55 AM)Miniac Wrote: Doug had a pair of doorskins in stock not to long ago. I was thinking of just doing the door skin, but having no experience in bodywork I'd imagine it would be quite difficult to do. Also, these doors are fairly easy to get ahold of in good condition at a good price. RE: Original 1275GT Rebuild - Miniac - 11-25-2015 Just be sure that the proposed replacement door has a framework as solid as these ones have. The driver's door is quite damaged around the window surround though. It's almost broken free from the cracks. RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Miniac - 11-26-2015 I take it that the frame has cracked just where the window frame meets the door framework, seems to be quite a common occurrence. RE: Original 1275GT Rebuild - Jared Mk3 - 11-26-2015 I assume this was meant to be posted here and not in my other thread? ![]() (11-26-2015, 06:29 AM)Miniac Wrote: I take it that the frame has cracked just where the window frame meets the door framework, seems to be quite a common occurrence. Yes, but quite badly. The frame has almost broken free of the door. It is a common occurrence - had the same repair to do on my Mk3, but not to this extent. RE: Original 1275GT Rebuild - Miniac - 11-26-2015 I was trying to figure out where the hell it had gone to? Sorted now ![]() RE: Original 1275GT Rebuild - Jared Mk3 - 11-27-2015 (11-26-2015, 12:47 PM)Miniac Wrote: I was trying to figure out where the hell it had gone to? Was confused when I saw it haha! RE: Original 1275GT Rebuild - Jared Mk3 - 11-28-2015 More for the sake of record keeping, as well as a time scale of when things were done : ![]() ![]() RE: Original 1275GT Rebuild - Miniac - 12-01-2015 The hinge and lock panels look to be fairly solid, should make for an easy amount of bodywork prep before paint. |
