RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Vinay-RS - 03-27-2017 Awesome. I think I'll chat to some of the guys about bulk ordering from eBay too. Since I doubt I'd need 250 m of loom tape. RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Jared Mk3 - 04-07-2017 A few small items from MS. Can finally finish off the braking system and bleed it. ![]() RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Vinay-RS - 04-07-2017 Nice man ![]() RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Jared Mk3 - 04-07-2017 (04-07-2017, 07:24 PM)Vinay-RS Wrote: Nice man New window scraper seals with new chrome trims, upper door window seals, crown wheel bolts and locktabs, adjustable oil pressure sender unit and black braided brake hoses ![]() RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Jared Mk3 - 04-28-2017 I haven't done too much to the car lately, especially with maintenance being carried out on the house. She does, however, now have a fresh garage. Nice and clean. ![]() Also got a few extra stickers from StickyFingers : ![]() RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Vinay-RS - 04-29-2017 That garage looks so good. It'll look even better with tools and some Mini related merch on the walls. RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Jared Mk3 - 06-16-2017 I haven't updated in a while. It hasn't been a good time with the Mini of late. I'm still waiting for the completion of the 1000S cylinder head. Also, the Force centres were sent in for a colour change, but returned looking like utter ****. The less said about this, the better. Hopefully they can rectify the problem. I made a start with bleeding the brakes. Few leaks here and there, but I hope I've sorted them out. Still a bit of a spongy pedal, so need to do some more. The grille has also been sent in to be chromed, so should look a lot better soon. Lastly, I received a few parts for the gear selector. I started with this (rubbish picture, but it was covered in oil) : ![]() And after a bit of petrol, degreaser and some aluminum cleaner, I ended up with this : ![]() I need to strip and repaint the gear lever and then reassemble with some fresh parts. One less item ticked off the list. I need to make a start on the diff and get it out the way. RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Vinay-RS - 06-16-2017 Are there bushes available for the remote gear selector to eliminate any sloppiness in the selection mechanism? There is. I bought a new nylon cup that fits on the gearlever, a nylon flange that sits around the gearlever and supports a spring, as well as a new detent spring. That should help resolve any sloppiness. I got the gearlever mechanism built up and completed today. Fitted new nylon bushes where needed and the detent spring. Feels really smooth now, even without being fitted to the car. ![]() I also fitted the very first part I bought for the car (10 years ago already). Feeling rather nostalgic : ![]() RE: Charlie - Mini Mk3 - Vinay-RS - 06-18-2017 I do like the look of the completed gear selector. That gear knob is a nice finishing touch. |
