I have to admit that I would have had the tank strap painted body colour to make it pop at shows.

What colour are you going to use for your tank Ed?

My current tank is pink but I've got something special in mind that I'm hoping will be a bit of a show stopper when I open my boot at shows and events, I was thinking about going with a very bright in your face sort of colour but I've recently seen a mini with a body coloured tank and a bright tank strap instead which to me made quite an impact so I might be going down that route instead.

That's going to be quite cool when done. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.

So two weeks ago on Sunday I took a drive to the seaside for a year end function/breakfast. When parking the car on a rather steep hill, I pulled up the handbrake and the lever came off its mount Sad I found a flat parking space and some rocks to chock the wheels.

To compound my misery, when leaving the meet, I was stopped on a hill behind a Jeep. I pulled up the handbrake and forgot that it was broken... Lifted my foot off the brake (like an idiot) and rolled into the Jeep...

I hit the rear mounted spare tyre of the jeep and it suffered no damage whatsoever. Caesar on the other hand was in a far worse state.

Badly bent bonnet, bent grille and bent catch panel...

Oh hell that does look pretty bad considering that the impact would have been minor, hope you manage to get it sorted soon.

Thanks Ed. Yeah gave it to the local mini specialist to sort out the bonnet. He did a decent job but it still isn't perfect. Going to go back to him to get him to sort out the small details. The catch panel is essentially perfect and the grille is decent. The bonnet could use a bit more work, but at least I have a mini again Smile

That's good to hear, I was looking at my GTS yesterday and there's evidence of some rust spotting on the drivers side but on the flat of the panel.

Time for a respray Ed?

RE: Caesar the 1275 E - Diary of minor changes - Miniac - 12-28-2015

Definitely on the cards but first to get it road going again and then I'll do it as a rolling restoration.

That's the best plan. Plus having on the road and using it will help you to see any small jobs that you want to tackle first.

Still makes me sad...
