Stealth mode. Put him under the car with the oil drip tray and he can do the entire job Tongue

SO some of you from the whatsaap chat will already know my planned upgrade this Saturday.

I scooped a set of Minitor Sportspack replica wheels from an old customer of mine - just pipped Japeth to post by 1 minute.

Anyway, the wheels were not actually what i was after, but the tyres............

The came fitted with a full set of new old stock 175/50x13 A048R Yokohama Semi slicks.

Soooo, looks like the rims will move onto Japeth, its only fair, and my 175/50x13 Nankangs on my SCP 6x13" rims will be replaced with the Semi slicks !!!! Yehaaaa

Hopefully Tiger Wheel and Tyre aint to busy tomorrow morning ......

We all wait for pics. Will be interesting to see how they compare to normal tyres for road use, with regards to wear, ride comfort etc.
Just a question, are they road legal? Not that I am worried, but just interested.

RE: Seans 1978 1100DL - DomMINIque - 04-23-2016

I think in SA semis are legal but slicks aren't

RE: Seans 1978 1100DL - Sean1380 - 04-25-2016

They are indeed road legal.

I did 61 kays in them yesterday, and the little dimples are still on the tyres :-)

TBH i am not to worried about tyre wear, i dont have to use the Mini on a daily basis anymore, so my useage is minimal, although it does get taken out basically every weekend.

Malcolm and it took the Alan Dale offramp hair pin, in 3rd gear and i must admit, it stuck to the road like "boerewors to a braai grid", i was firmly held by the bucket seat, but Malcolm had to reach over for the grab handle LOL

RE: Seans 1978 1100DL - Vinay-RS - 04-25-2016

Is there only one bucket seat in the mini at the moment Sean?

RE: Seans 1978 1100DL - DomMINIque - 04-25-2016

That's correct Vinay. Car looked seriously mean yesterday at cars and coffee with the bib sploier and semis sticking out.

RE: Seans 1978 1100DL - Sean1380 - 04-25-2016

AND photobucket still eludes my Emailed pictures Grrrrrr

Yeh, the second bucket will need me to cut the bracket off the other seat... ran out of time on Saturday unfort.
