Misfire - Darrel - 04-28-2016

Hope someone can shed some light here.
Mini has a misfire at light throttle opening.
With a heavier foot - no misfire.
Idles normally.
I can at times feel a misfire when its running down hill in gear with no throttle.
Coil, plugs and leads are all about 3000kms old.
Any ideas as to where I should start looking?

It is running too lean at low speed. Try using a heavier weight oil in the dashpot (If it is a SU) Use engine oil 20W50 in the dashpot. You may also get away with setting the main jet a bit out, richer.

Thanks!
Replaced dashpot oil yesterday.
Will try making her a little richer and see if that helps

Tis a HIF38 IIRC.

Yip, HIF 38
I'll gave the mixture screw (at least I hope it was) a half turn
Was the only adjustable screw near the fuel inlet I could find.
Improved the problem about 80%, so will give it another quarter turn and hopefully the problem be gone
