Sad day. - Heinrich - 10-18-2017

Hi all, today on my way home in my clubman, a Fortunar decided to smash into the back of my car. So..... I need a Boot lid rear bumper and tail lights.  Angry The owner of the toyota is insured and friendly. How do I go about this? Normal run around case no and quotes from 3 panelbeater ? Should I look for parts? Any advise will be great.
Regards
Heinrich

You should be able to claim from the other parties insurance directly if you don't have any insurance. Get the insurance details from the other party and contact them.

First report accident to the police and get a case number, then get 3 quotes, and send to his insurance company. Did you take photos at the accident scene.

Trust you have his name, registration number and cell phone number.

Bad luck

Since it was his fault, it might be worth looking into importing new parts for your Mini from the UK. Since Minis are so popular, you can basically get new taillights and any new panel needed from the UK, from Minispares - minispares.com or M-machine - http://preview.m-machine.co.uk. A good body shop should be able to paint the new panels and do any fitting/welding needed.

Hi guys thanks was more concerned regarding the parts. The Classic mini shop sorted me out and now we have to hold thumbs to see what the insurance will say. Cheers and thanks for the advise.
