Coil - getting very hot

Dear Forum members, please help. My coil is getting hotter than normal and I am not sure what to do....what will be the process to diagnose? I have a non ballast system..tried much of whats out there.

Also, please confirm what coil do Mini's take? 1.5 ohm vs 2.5- 3 ohm..

Just an update on the coil issue.....the trick was to replace the normal black lucas coil with a bosch heavy duty coil...it is a blue coil....the coil stays warm no issues when the car gets to normal temperature.
