Pity they were repainted. They do look good though! Extremely light as well.

As far as I know, these wheels were all black originally. I think some of the remakes were available in gold. Possible that some of the originals were painted by their owners.

One wheel done - three to go. This is as good as I can get them by hand. I moved the centre around after this pic so that the valve lines up with a blank spoke :

It is a pity . . . But if you don't look too hard, you won't notice them.

I'd imagine that once the wheel nuts are on that the marks will disappear into the background. We definitely never noticed them when the wheels were fitted to Spencer.
