How much does a forum cost?

Hi Mini Fanatics,

To get right to the point, this Forum was setup using Afrihost as a hosting provider. Having access to a database is the only requirement to have a Forum.

When considering the hosting packages offered by Afrihost:

   
Afrihost Linux Hosting

The Gold Home is the most basic that offers 1 mySQL database. This is the package that was chosen and seems to be serving our purpose.

The hosting costs R39 p/m however there is a annual +-R100 payment for the domain name i.e. samini.co.za. If we factor the annual payment into the monthly cost it totals out to be: R47.33 p/m. *** Post 2018 April this value increased by R10 to R57.33p/m

Any assistance/contribution to this cost will be appreciated and tracked in this post.

Contributions - Debt = R135 (Good till around April 2019 ) 

On 09-12-2015 the Afrihost hosting account was moved under a new account called: admin (at) samini (dot) co (dot) za. This was done such that anyone can take over the reigns and manage the site should they wish.
The balance of R1470 was transferred into this Afrihost account (as a credit) from which it will debt monthly. Any further contributions made will be transferred into the Afrihost account.

The most recent account statement can be found here at all times. Please ping me via this thread or PM if I have not updated in awhile I normally update at least one a quarter.

It's good to have our forum up and running again. I'm willing to make a donation to the server fund. Will it be possible to add a donator signature under a user name ? Like they do on turbo minis forum?

@Dion, Good idea, Yes it seems that it is possible to add a "badge" to a user that could say "contributor"/"donator". The contributors username can also appear in a different colour to distinguish him. As a suggestion bronze, gold and platinum colours can be used such that if you contribute for a month, 6 months or year you will earn the relevant colour?
