Clubman bonnet
#1
Hi Guys,

As some of you know I had a knock with the clubby a while back and the bonnet was bent out of shape. Now after speaking to a reputable specialist, who said that it could be straightened properly, I got him to straighten it. The problem now is that it wasn't done well and the bonnet is still bent and looks lousy.

Before I take the bonnet to another body shop, I'd like to know what a straight second hand bonnet would cost (preferably in red Tongue ) and whether repair versus replacement is the route to take.

Thanks,

Vinay

What about one of Andrews bonnets, never need to worry about rust again?

But they aren't metal... and honestly rust isn't the reason for looking for a replacement. That said, how much do they go for?

Hoping for a red one Vinay is an awesome idea but the colour will never match. I've tried this. But you may find the one you looking for, maybe you've got better luck than me.

It still comes down to cost Dom. I'd love to get a straight bonnet in the right colour (I know it is highly unlikely), but if it is going to cost me an arm and a leg then it isn't worth it.

The last time i found a straight second hand rust free bonnet was R1000.
One still need to paint it the right colour. I really dont know what they are going for now.

Have you tired Doug in Pinetown. He might have.

I'm in Cape Town, minatic, but thanks for the info on the price. It isn't too cheap as I thought and with paint it is definitely going to set me back a bit. Might have to start saving I guess.

Thanks Trinesh. I think a fibreglass bonnet might be the best option then, if I can't get the one on the car straight again.
