998 Rev Limit
#1
Hi guys tried a search with no luck.

Just wanted to know what the safe book rev limit is on a late 998cc, so as to buy a rev counter.
7000 rpm?

Cheers

You won't really get past 5500rpm on a std 998. So the one in the pic would be appropriate. On a std valve train you would probably get valve bounce after 6.5k.

A 998 with a modified head, a mild cam and twin SU's are great! If you have a 998 then stick with it and it will be great fun. If you still have to find an engine, rather look for a 1275, will be cheaper in the long run and it will have pretty much the same power as a modified 998 anyway.

I can't get a reasonably priced one like above so am getting this one for R100.
Thank you to all for your input and please comment if you have suggestions.
