Not much progress of late due to the cold garage floor giving me a solid dose of flu. I am taking my door and boot handles to a local locksmith to get matching keys for all three so I don't have to carry a pile of keys on my key-ring. They also do numberplates so I was thinking that I may as well get plates made up for the great day when the car is on the road BUT a question, As I have put in another engine I will have to get a police clearance and have the new engine number put onto the registration papers . Will this mean I will have to re-register the car and have a new roadworthy and new licence plates? If this is so I don't want to get plates made up and have double expense later. The local Western Cape web site is not very clear on the subject. Any advice ?
I know some people don't bother with having the vin plate and engine nr. not matching but I want to keep legal.

I have been going nuts the past two weeks trying to bleed the brakes, well actually first to fill the system with fluid and then bleed. I have replaced all the slave cylinders and bought a reconditioned master cylinder, all about a year ago, and now I am at the stage to bleed the system, however as soon as I connect the eezi-bleed and pressure it up all I get is brake fluid pouring onto the garage floor. Closer investigation has revealed that fluid it leaking out between the metal part of the master cylinder and the plastic resevoir. I put new grommets in but I think there is something not right with this rebuilt master and something must be stopping the pistons from moving and allowing fluid to pass which is causing the fluid to leak at the join. I think I will take the thing back to Clutch and Brake and ask them to sort it out. Being a year ago that I bought it I don't think I'll get the job done free but it's best left to the experts. I did make sure that the eezi-bleed was attached to a tyre at low pressure.
In the mean time the logos and side stripes my son made have arrived and I am pleased with the end product, I'll get around to putting them on once the doors and boot are refitted.
Just another question, after rebuilding the brakes and fitting new shoes I notice the wheels are very stiff and don't turn freely, despite backing off on the adjuster as per instructions . Will this ease once the car has rolled a bit?

When you say new shoes, are they replacement shoes? Or are they relined items?

It could be possible that the relined shoes are slightly thicker than standard items now. My brother had a similar problem on his Clubby after fitting rebonded shoes with drums that weren't skimmed.
