Mini Pick Up Rebuild - Warning - Not for Sensitive Veiwers
#38
Managed to get a bit of work done over the last couple of weeks which have been quite busy.

Removed the support frame and starting cleaning the surface rust.

Cleaned up inside the sills and added some spot welds along the seam

Primed with an anti rust and then overcoated

I finally got the new inner sills from the steel shop and cut to size.
Primed the inside of the panel and applied a topcoat before installation.
You can also see the captive nuts for the seat belt tensioner mount
The inner sill was later drilled on the floor flange for spot welding, pics to follow after installed

Modified the box section which is under the seats. I wanted to lower the seats and the centre of gravity, so hacked out some steel and welded in some new steel. Again, captive nuts welded under the box section for mounting the seats

Finally cleaned up the welds on the box section and put them in the car with the new inner sills to mock up the final position.

Again just a mock up to check positioning, but quite happy.

Since these I have welded everything in except for the driver side box section.

Will post soon enough.
