First port of call this week-end was to see the condition of the brakes and have a look at the suspension.
As to be expected from a 44 year vehicle, there were a few surprises.
Firstly, the front needed new shockabsorbers, as someone in their infinite wisdom decided that they would install ones off a motorcycle. Worst of all, the 2 sides did not even match!



A few phone calls for pricing and availability led me to a  local spares shop, who fortunately had both front and rear shocks in stock. Also as no surprise, the suspension bump stops are no more, and new ones will have to be purchased.



While the front wheels were off, I had a look at what the brakes were up to. The left side was drenched in brake fluid, while the right hand side pistons are seized solid in the slave cylinders.





Guess there are some more items to add to the growing list of parts needed.
