It's easier just to not give a f**k.

You definitely should take your car to the car show. My bucket of bolts on 4 wheels (Frankenstein) goes to shows and runs whenever it's actually going.
It's my car for my enjoyment and therefore if I am enjoying it, it doesn't matter what any one else has to say.
