Ja Tim
The car had some serious problems.
It was at this point that the gas was finished and a trip to AFROX was needed for a refill bottle.
I then also sourced a sheet of 0.8mm cold rolled steel for the needed metal repairs.
When you have metal benders etc at your disposal the job is just so much easier.
The new box being measured and taking shape.
A nice picture from the bottom of the box.

It's great to see all that rust being removed and replaced with new metal. Top work with this GTS. It'll look so good and be a perfect example of a GTS when completed.

Thanks Vinay for the kind words.
Then it was onto the salvaged rear arch supports.
After some work and making it fit properly.
Onto the other side.
Test fitting RH rear arch over support.
Marking with chalk excess to be removed.
Final fit, lekker man lekker
Time to fix the acc bracket mounting mess.
A template was made of new metal shaped and cut to size.
Now onto the engine bay side behind the sub-frame.
Holes drilled after lining a spare acc bracket up for measuring. Now just need two 1/4 x 1/2 inch UNF bolts welded in place.

It's great to see this GTS getting restored. Should look quite special once there is some paint on the shell.

Been a long wait Philip. Hope you have time over December to get a few more things ticked off the list.
I'm sure you are rather keen to get things going again. Keep at it, will look awesome once done!

Hi Tim
Yes well the plan have changed quite drastically of what the end result is going to be engine wise.
I am gathering a few cents and going to buy some nice go-fast items ASAP.
Have ordered a very special steering wheel also which should arrive when I am back in SA from my travels to the UK.

So
This happened this past few weeks.....
AND
Um..
Finally
Really finally....
No this is NOT the final colour the car will be, but this is the final primer that went on.

And that final coat of primer looks really good! Amazing work on this GTS. What will be the final colour?
