1978/79 GTS
Great stuff Philip! You ,must be eager to get the GTS back in your own yard and to start with assembly!

Hi Guys

Yes I am very eager, but the engine is not yet back together so only the other bits and bobs will be put back.
I am waiting for a genuine Kent cam from the UK.

The final colour will still reveal itself very soon.

SO after nearly 17 months (most of which was spent) waiting for 3rd parties to do their jobs on the car....

The great finalle ........ almost.

First the car was seam sealed.

And Then the moment of Truth...

Some stonechip on the underside wheel arches insides and boot.

Next sealant for inside.

Wheel arches prepped and ready.

The BEAST reveals it's true colour.....

OMG! That is gorgeous! Dion's dad is also building a yellow GTS. It is going to be so cool to see all these restored GTSs.

Thanks Vinay

It is really funny 2 years ago when I was looking at Genuine Leyland colours, there was but a handful of yellow GTSs around.  Since then yes they have multiplied somewhat.

The front and rear sub-frames have been laying around and is in need of a rebuild, so that I can get the body back from the spray painter.

The front one was first up.  This is what happens when a cheap spray job gets done on the car and the spray painter is too lazy to mask the car properly, yes this is the previous time the car was sprayed green not the current yellow.

After several wire wheels and some cleaning...

Some primer

PAINT IT BLACK

That is how my Jemima Puddleduck is supposed to look but my compressor broke so I can' finish the respray but the car is needed so a final spray will have to wait till I can get it to my son's fancy new spray-booth he has installed at his factory.

Yes Guys

I do like the yellow. Last year BMW used a very similar yellow on one of the M models.

Thanks for the kind words, but the project is not yet done.
