Sand or soda blasting makes easy work of getting crap off to see what you have left. Things like subframes can then easily be powder coated once you're sure they're straight and sound. It's always encouraging to have clean parts so you can see exactly where you're at and what needs to be replaced/renewed.

So not too much done today as my honours year results were being released today and I was a little pre occupied as one could expect
However I was able to split both cars this morning.

A really rusty boot lid, I've got a replacement though

Looks like that black one has adjustable tierods on it and a decent set of tyres. Keep up the good work and as Jay has already stated, the more you do yourself, the more you'll learn about these little cars of ours.

Thanks guys and yea that is very true. I have already learnt a whole heap of stuff.

Ed those tyres are relatively new, bought a set of venter trailer wheels a while back with two good and two reasonable tyres for a very good price.

From what I can see they are adjustable tie rods but I think some genius has decided to weld them to non - adjustable. I'll take some more pics of them as I'm cleaning the motor which is the next step.

Also going to fetch myself a much needed gadget today... quite exciting!

Thanks Vinay. Can now start earning an income to support the minis. Goodness knows what's going to happen when I get a girlfriend. There's going to be nothing left in the budget for her.

What my dad got himself/me today:

Comes with an extra roll of wire and a small unopened bottle of oxygen.
From what I can establish the big bottle is Argoshield by Afrox, a shielding gas for welding thin metal.
As for the oxygen who knows what I must do with it. May only be useful for some fast recovery session after a long cycle.
