Great stuff Dion. That damn Fiat in front of you! Was it a 1600 131?

Thanks Guys, yes the Mini is struggling a bit down the straight hopefully the upgrades planned for next season will help.

Tim, I'm not sure what engine is in the Fiat, he is certainly a lot quicker than me down the straights.

After the last race of the season the engine was removed and stripped for a end of season rebuild and a few upgrades. The upgrades include a new 4 bolt main bearing center cap to replace the center main strap, new cylinder head with 12.5:1 CR, new maniflow lcb, turbo oil pump, new cam and exhaust. Main bearings, big end bearings, rings and cam liners will also be replaced.

Overall the condition of the engine was good except signs of wear on no4 big end bearing and center main bearing showing wear that appears to be from the crank flexing, to try and prevent that a 4 bolt main cap is to be installed.

Dion, how many km's has the motor done to show that much bearing wear?
I'm only here to LOL and +1

I can't tell you how many km's it's done, but I can say it's done 14 races and has been rev'd to 7500 and beyond continuously. Because of this wear I'm going to do a few upgrades. 4 bolt main and turbo high capacity oil pump.

Dion. What clutch housing and cover you got on your motor? Looks a little different with the ribs around the starter area.

Tim, it's just the regular DAM 5626 gearbox casing with the bigger idler bearing, far as I know they all look like this. I think the older 22g1832 casing with the smaller idler bearing does not have the ribs.
