Coca cola and tin foil. It still needs a finer polish I feel but has improved from how it started.
Might go get some autosol - been watching the guy polish all his small parts on fb and it's looking good so far.

I'd suggest putting a protective polish/wax on afterwards as well.

I definitely agree with Jay, follow the polishing with something like Rally or Turtle wax to protect it from taking a backwards hurdle.

Definetly will do. It does needs the application of a polishing compound as I'm not 100% happy with the results but I'll definetly then add a protective coating on afterwards.
So finally finished board exams yesterday hoping for many years free from writing any more, first day of work today and my weekends are now 100% at my disposal so some mini progress is definitely on the cards.
I also went with dad on Tuesday night to go buy a nice big compressor to put under our new carport. 200 litres with 3hp motor. He said he wants one that can handle a decent workload (including big spraying jobs, like a car without having to wait for the compressor to catch up.)
Also got myself some pallets to allow for easier movablity of these heavy mini parts. Just need to source some wheels.

Looks good Dom, I used the half pallets as I found the wider wheel Base of the standard pallets to be an issue while moving things around although I was limited with space for moving around as well.

This is the test version. Need to put some washers between the screws and wheels and they have a poor contact surface.
Will build a half pallet for the engines. This one is planned for the blue shell so it can be completely stripped.

If you're planning to move a shell around on it I'd highly consider using the much larger dolly wheels as the bearings will be able to cope better with the weight and their footprint on the ground will make for easier movement over uneven surfaces.

Agree with Ed on the wheels. They have to be able to take the weight.
