Shuddering and slipping
#1
Sad
Hi Everyone,
Im new to SA mini.

I have a 1975 austin 1275cc.
When I go up hill or if theres weight in the car, theres a violent shuddering and then what seems like slipping of something. The result is no forward motion.

Myself and my go to mechanic are stumped.
Ive recently changed out the spline hubs, CV inner and outer.

Any suggestions?
Any help / advice is appreciated

Thanks

This sounds like a clutch issue.
There may be some play in the system resulting in the extra weight (more load) being put on the parts.

There is also some sort of leak that sometimes occurs there - but you'll have to wait for a more experienced mini owner to come along and describe this as I don't know any of the details.

Oh and Welcome!

Clutch or loose flywheel. I have had a Mini years ago that kept on tearing the clutch lining of the plate when being a bit agressive with the wheelspin. Check the flywheel Asap to avoid fatal damage to crank tail.
