Caliper paint
#1
Can anyone recommend a paint to use on brake calipers?

Also, if I don't paint them and leave them "raw" will they rust up pretty quickly?

I have just used a silver duplicolour brush-on paint on one of my calipers but I'm really unhappy with the finish. Might well be that the paint is expired - I bought it "new" a couple of months ago but noticed after applying it to one caliper that it was made back in 2013 so must have been sitting on the shelf for ages.

The paint didn't mix up easily, was pretty thick and lumpy and was not easy to apply. I probably should have guessed at that stage that there was a problem but thought I'd give it a bash anyway.

I used VHT silver caliper paint on the brakes that I was rebuilding. I was pretty chuffed with the finish. I just followed the instructions on the can.

Thanks Vinay.

I might give Hammerite a try - I have a tin left from my subframe respray and lot of the guys on the UK forums suggest it works well.

I have used rust-oleum. Unfortunately, I can't tell the results of long term use as I have not yet fitted.
