Thanks Miniac

Yes it took a while to be made but was worth it in the end.

Still waiting on some engine bits and then the plan is to get the rest together and the little nitty gritty non-sense done and dusted.

So

Been tinkering with two of my other cars in the mean time.

The fuel tank straps needed some attention...

New fuel tank neck rubber on the left.

Tank straps after being painted re-fitted.

Then onto the fuel tank that was still painted green from previous respray.

After some wire wheel treatment...

Some paint and good as new.

Time for a update    Wink

I removed the old worn out steering rack and fitted a new one.

Today this happened....

Old VS the NEW.

Then finally one cross pin diff married to one 3.44 crown wheel.

And before the crown wheel was fitted.

Now I have to clean the rest of the gearbox out and refit the diff covers etc.

Thanks Tim

I managed to get the box back together.

Lurking in the dark....

Then I moved onto the RH hub that needed a steering arm and discs.

I then fed the wiring out of the blanking plate for the firewall and cleaned it up, because it sucked.

Inside of plate.

After some TLC nice and shiny black again.

Now I needed to refit the grommets etc back to the firewall, naturally I stripped the car more than 2 years ago and had pictures, but still struggled to puzzle it back together exactly.
I cleaned the black and green paint of the items very painstakingly as such....

The wiring holder...

Back side

Fitted in place.

To where I got to yesterday.

The brackets that holds the petrol hard line and the acc pedal stop needed some love.

And the engine breather will be painted black, so....

and

The airvent junction box was cleaned and fitted next.

The fuel line bracket fitted nicely and looks good.

I also fitted the brake master cylinder and clutch master cylinders.

Later in the week on my blue car the plastic reservoir on the brake master cylinder started to leak, so I sourced a new yellow tag brake master with the 12mm outlet for the rear brakes that will be fitted to this car.

I then fitted the brake master with the new hose for the bottom chamber made to 12mm, and bled the brakes.

I received a very expensive parcel that was wrapped in cling wrap today......

It was like christmas unwrapping it, to find.....

The built up power unit, that was not assembled by me, for a change, but by the engineering.
Needed a hone, skimm, line-bore and new big-ends bearings, mains bearings and the new pistons and rings was fitted.

I then proceeded to the tedious task of cleaning all the oil and dirt and grit and masking the block for it's new coat of engine enamel.

The first coat of paint  Wink

And in other news I had to have a starter re-conned, as I think I sold this car's one with another mini, oops.

Do the yellow tag units work on the silly split diagonal braking system you have on your GTS.
