Thanks Manne

I fitted the starter next.

New plastic fan.

The dizzy and alternator was next up.

I initially wanted not to fit the oil cooler back but changed my mind and did fit it.

Due to the oil cooler hoses and the bracket that was previously used to fit the coil that is not being used anymore, I moved the coil bracket to the front of the nose, on certain GTS's not sure of year model they came like that.  The holes was there already I just used them.

Also finished off the cooling system etc.

So fitted the new battery cable with some P-Clips

Next the exhaust hangar brackets went back on.

Fuel pump with filter and hoses fitted on SU fuel pump bracket.
Had fuel running to carbs when tested so all good.

Very nice build. Where did you buy your electronic ignition and are you happy with it? Thinking of doing it soon on my 1100 clubman.

Hi Heinrich

I supply it myself from a local supplier.

Running the electronic ignition setup on all my classic minis, have run one of the cars about 25000kms on it with no problems.

Thanks

Turns out the car needed a new starter solenoid.

New vs old.

The clutch slave cylinder needed some attention needless to say.

Fitted back and with the reconned breather fitted.

Had to fit engine steady.

Hi Phillip,

I'm looking to swap the LCB on my car with a maniflow example as the current flanges on the exhaust manifold are too big and the inlet manifold for twins doesn't clear. The exhaust manifold has been welded onto the exhaust and I was advised to keep it this way, I was wondering if I could see some close-up pics of how you've attached the manifold?

Thanks Smile

Hi Vinay

Had to go digging deep into the archives, but found this pic of the strip down.

Another pic of the actual studs.

Thanks, Phillip. I see the flaw with the current manifold now. The inner part of the flange is definitely too wide for the GTS inlet manifold.
