Looking good some solid work required. You planning on doing the rust/panel work yourself?

Got enough parts between the two for about 1 and 3/4 cars so not a pile of stuff missing.
Black shell is in much better shape hence the purchase. Yea my dad taught me how to weld about a year or two back. I've been doing some practice/testing on some 1.2mm sheet metal to see at what point I burn holes and when the metal starts to warp. I've got it to about 15mm sections before it becomes a problem. I also find that negatively hooking up the welder doesn't seem to generate as much heat. This has all been done with a arc/stick welder so far. If I can find thinner welding electrodes it will apparently help.

Explain "negatively hooking up the welder" please Dom, our local Builder's Warehouse has some really thin sticks, if you're in a jam let me know and I'll pick some up for you.. give you more incentive to join us for a C&C one Sunday to collect

Has something to do with the direction that the welding arc travels either from panel to welding rod or welding rod to panel. Cant comment on heat differences.

Electrode Negative (straight polarity) results in electrode being consumed quicker and more metal being deposited onto work piece.

There you go 100%.
Priority 1 at the moment is to pass honours Malcolm. Then we can go crazy - mini crazy.
