'66 Austin Mini 1000 Mk1 - alfaquad - 10-04-2015 Hey guys, So here is my '66 Austin Mini 1000 Mk1! It's completely standard apart from the 10" Minilight wheels with 165/70 10" tyres and two Instyle bucket seats. The motor is a standard 998cc but runs with an SU HS-4. As you can see, it has the Australian doors on. The whole car was rebuilt in 2004 - resprayed, engine rebuilt, interior redone. I drove it as my daily when I was in varsity for about 1.5 years. Since then it has not been driven much and at the moment it's been standing for quite some time. I plan to fix all the issues on it soon so I can enjoy the car again! I've just been spending all my free time on sorting out my Toyota race car this last year... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: '66 Austin Mini 1000 Mk1 - theMINIguy - 10-05-2015 Awesome pics of your Mini. RE: '66 Austin Mini 1000 Mk1 - Cooper1275 - 10-05-2015 Wow! nice looking mk1 ![]() I am a real sucker for mk1 cars in general and even more so for cars that are relatively unmolested. + 1 on the gold minilites...VERY NICE ![]() RE: '66 Austin Mini 1000 Mk1 - alfaquad - 10-05-2015 Thanks guys! I love my gold Minilights. I styled the car after a pic I found years and years ago of a rally Mini. I'm still in two minds on whether or not I should put white door stickers on as per the old rally cars. My Mk1's body is still very good. When we redid the car, after sanding it down, there was not one little dent in the car, not one scratch nothing. The driver and passenger footwells were rusted through, but nothing anywhere else. I'm amazed, cause when I bought the car it was standing under a tree on a small-holding outside Centurion. Really looking forward to driving it again! RE: '66 Austin Mini 1000 Mk1 - Vinay-RS - 10-05-2015 Your mini is gorgeous! The colour scheme and wheels are a perfect combination. Any photos of the engine bay and interior? What seats do you have in there? RE: '66 Austin Mini 1000 Mk1 - Miniac - 10-05-2015 Lovely Mk1, I'm definately in the group of gold Minilight lovers on a mini.
