RE: Hi All - Miniac - 01-01-2016 Welcome to the forum Tiaan, lovely looking clubby you have there with what sounds to be a very fun and lively engine spec. I don't want to do it now and sort of regret it. I'm based in Springs Your'e welcome! Tomorrow is Sunday - would be ideal. I'll PM you my details. RE: Hi All - cjsnyman - 01-03-2016 Thank you Dion for showing me your amazing Mini. I admire the hard work you have put in it. Thanks Tiaan, decided which way to go yet? RE: Hi All - cjsnyman - 01-04-2016 Definitely the 649, but maybe I should try my 40 DCOE instead of the Hif44 SU? RE: Hi All - Sean1380 - 01-05-2016 I think you have a good deal on that HIF44 on Facebook last night. I would grab it, as the alloy manifold is worth R1500 new by itself. RE: Hi All - cjsnyman - 01-05-2016 Jip. I'm taking it, Picking up tonight . Can't wait for it to be installed RE: Hi All - Sean1380 - 01-05-2016 Cool RE: Hi All - Dion - 01-06-2016 I'm no camshaft expert, but what I've heard long duration cams like the 649 (300 degree) cams are not well suited to altitude and perform better at the coast. Maybe you should chat to a few mini experts or mini racers in Jhb to advise you on cam shafts. I know of some very quick race minis in Jhb that use cams with less duration than the 649. Btw what compression ratio you running? I would think a 649 would require a very high compression to get the most out of it. Hi Dion, I've seen a Mini over the weekend with a 649 in Jo'Burg and it went very well. My compression ratio will be 10:1:1 |
