RE: Frankenstein - DomMINIque - 06-18-2017 So got the cooling system sorted last weekend. And it's now running much better. Seem to have a small leak on the thermostat housing. But I'll sort that out the next time a minispares order comes in. Took it to work on Wednesday and it ran beautifully on the way there but 5km from home on the way back it left me stranded. Waited for it to cool down and my dad to arrive with the tow rope and it seemed to start again and was back on the road. I think it's something related to the ignition system as the coil gets very hot, so it's either that or the condenser unit that is faulty. There was a sudden snap and lots of grinding. Very glad I was only 200m from home. ![]() ![]() RE: Frankenstein - DomMINIque - 09-14-2017 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not one for much words today. But here's a load of pictures. Some work I've done on the car since the manifold broke. Still busy sorting out the exhaust and fueling. Fueling seems to be way off compared to what it was before.... RE: Frankenstein - Vinay-RS - 09-14-2017 Good job on cleaning up all those parts. Slow and steady and soon that engine bay will look great and run well too. Did you source an LCB to replace the damaged exhaust manifold? RE: Frankenstein - DomMINIque - 09-15-2017 Yea I did. It actually came from Q. He brought himself in an original maniflow and then offered this local copy on to myself. Which I was happy to take from him. And it's now being put to good use as well. It was never really my intention to spend the amount of time and money that I have on this car but hopefully once it is done then it will be a happy run around for the runs and over the weekend until one of my other projects is complete. RE: Frankenstein - Willy - 09-17-2017 Fueling will be off after fitting a manifold. How far are you with your wideband? RE: Frankenstein - DomMINIque - 09-21-2017 Haven't got to that yet Wian. Thinking of just leaving it for the turbo car. I've recently sourced a colourtune on behalf of another mini comrade. So going to use that to set the mixture. RE: Frankenstein - Jared Mk3 - 09-23-2017 Keep it up Dom ![]() RE: Frankenstein - DomMINIque - 03-05-2018 Changed the water pump because the place for the alternator bolt snapped off and the alternator was rubbing against the recently fitted radiator. Was a break from the shitty work week I had. A bit of a brain dead exercise for some change in scenery. ![]() ![]() ![]() Still need to set the mixture but the HS4 currently installed seems to be giving me a hard time. Not sure if I've got a manifold leak as well to make it worse. Thinking of getting this bad boy sorted out. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Frankenstein - Jared Mk3 - 03-07-2018 Fit the carb!
