Tropical fan - Enzio - 01-25-2016 I'm looking for a tropical cooling fan. Let me know if you can help, please! ![]() RE: Tropical fan - minion - 01-25-2016 Saw one like that on a mini at the show this weekend ![]() RE: Tropical fan - Sean1380 - 01-27-2016 I asked my connection at Mini Spares UK about this fan, he told me to stick with the plastic fan ! Apparently these are very noisy RE: Tropical fan - Miniac - 01-28-2016 The 6 blade tropical fan is very noisy but they do work extremely well RE: Tropical fan - Boyscout - 01-28-2016 The tropical fan may not be the quietest or the most efficient but it pushes the most air. I would also like one. The plastic fan moves very little air at idle. that's why most people fit electric fans. IMHO electric fans are ok in traffic but it gets in the way at high speed, blocking air. I have removed the electric fan on my Mini and the high speed cooling is better. I have an auxiliary radiator fitted and have a small electric 7" fan fitted to that. It sorts out the stop go traffic cooling issue. I'm sure that the tropical fan will provide the required airflow when at idle in traffic so no additional fans will be required. RE: Tropical fan - Miniac - 01-28-2016 Dion, what rad are you using as an auxiliary rad as I'm planning on using one as well that was made to fit in behind the 3 cutouts on the lower valance of the clubman. RE: Tropical fan - Boyscout - 01-29-2016 I'm using a Mini heater Matrix mounted behind the grill on the driver side. RE: Tropical fan - Miniac - 01-29-2016 Ok cool, I'd imagine that your using the heater tap near cylinder 4 as your take off or feed? RE: Tropical fan - Colin - 01-29-2016 Well, thanks to this thread, I just learnt that my car has a tropical fan... |
