12" Steel GTS rim differences - MiniGTS - 03-29-2016 Hi guys, I would just like to clarify the difference between 12" GTS steel rims and 12" 1275E rims. So from what I can see the only difference is the plate that is welded to the back of the rim? Is this just done for more offset? ![]() ![]() RE: 12" Steel GTS rim differences - GTSPhil - 03-30-2016 MiniGTS The plate welded to the back of the rim is to strengthen the rim and where it mounts to the studs. Especially on the front driving wheels the non-plated wheels used to tear out of the studs and that was some serious problems for Leyland. RE: 12" Steel GTS rim differences - Vinay-RS - 03-30-2016 Hi Tim, I am pretty sure all 1275 Es had 10" wheels. Though didn't the Apache's have the same 12" steel wheels as the GTS? RE: 12" Steel GTS rim differences - GTSPhil - 03-30-2016 The GTS 12 inch steel wheel is only for the GTS and it is made to work with the plastic hub caps. These wheels are not for the Apache, remember the apache has a 108x 4 or 114 x 4 PCD not the same as a mini's pcd. RE: 12" Steel GTS rim differences - Sean1380 - 03-30-2016 Yup the apache is like the 1100/1300GT with its 4.5" PCD instead of the 4" Mini PCD. 4.5" x 25.4mm = 114.3mm (Nissan 1400 and old Mazda 323 PCD) 4.25" x 25.4mm = 108mm (Ford PCD) RE: 12" Steel GTS rim differences - MiniGTS - 03-30-2016 Thanks for the info guys. So the only difference between the wheels in the pictures is the strengthening plate? RE: 12" Steel GTS rim differences - minitim - 03-31-2016 That's correct Tim. I had the same issue with one of my rims not having the plate on one of them. |
