1100 Clubman - Heinrich - 07-29-2018 Hi guys i am in need of advise. My Clubman was running great then left her standing for 2 weeks. I could not get the car to start again.I eventually took the car to a local shop and they got it going.(was told they fitted new plugs) I drove it for 2 weeks with no problem but could smell the car was running a little rich. ( petrol smell) A week later the car would not start. Got upset and decided to leave the car for the week end. This morning I bought the correct plugs as I always use the BP6ES plugs ,fitted a new coil turned the key. Car started straight up. Drove to the local shop and when I got back to the car it would not start? I am at the end of my wits. As mentioned it's got a new coil new plugs and a new electronic dizzy. I know it's not a trimming isseu as the car was running well. Can't be a points isseu as I fitted the electronic ignition. There is feul and spark? Could the carb be to rich causing the plugs the fail? Please help. I am in rustenburg so it's a drive to get to one of the mini specialists. Any advise would be appreciated. RE: 1100 Clubman - jimmyjamjar - 07-31-2018 This may be a stupid question but have you got thatr composite gasket between the carb and the manifold? cos if it is missing once you stop the engine the heat from the manifold will vaporise the fuel in the carb. RE: 1100 Clubman - DomMINIque - 08-02-2018 If you take the plugs out and clean them does this resolve the issue? |
