Good day fellow enthusiasts

I just purchased a 1983 1275E. I've loved these cars since I was a kid and finally managed to buy one. Overall it's in good shape but needs attention and I have very basic knowledge about working on my own cars. The most I can do is a minor service and brake pad replacement. Looking forward to learning and getting insight from the more experienced members.

Welcome! That's a tidy looking 1275 E. Let's see some more pictures of your new purchase Smile Some basic tools, a Haynes manual, and things like axle stands and a trolley jack will make it a lot easier to work on your own car. A torque wrench is probably worth getting too. There is a lot of experience on this group to help you when you need to work on your Mini.

Thank you Vinay. I haven't been this excited about a build ever. First thing I need to do is change the battery. Any suggestion on size?

I can check what I fitted in my car. It's worth noting that the standard battery might struggle if you intend on fitting a big sound system or other fancy electronics that draw a large amount of current. It should be perfectly fine if you are just running the standard electrics of the car. I also found that I needed to fit a larger alternator when I fitted a bigger battery, although it might have been that my old alternator was on its way out.

Welcome to the forum azhar! Hope we can assist you where we can in getting your Clubby to run like it should and to enjoy the experience. Be sure to fit an airfilter as soon as possible.

Thank you. I need to source the original air filter housing as mine is missing. Alternatively an after market one.
