1275gts

Just bought this beauty but as you can see from the pictures it runs with a downdraught Weber which means the air intake is where I would like to put a servo as although it has discs by today’s standards the breaking is pretty average . Fuel consumption and performance. Are very good so I am loath to change the carb ,any suggestions

Hi

IF you want to keep the car original the ONLY choice is a set of Twin SU HS2 1 1/4 inch carbs on correct inlet manifold and correct air filter housing.

A cheaper alternative can be a single SU HS4 1 1/2 inch carb on cut-off cast iron inlet manifold with correct air filter housing.  Then car will be closer to a 1275 GT that ran same setup.

You can pm me for both setups.

PS nice to see another yellow GTS.
Own some minis, break them, fix them, improve them, test them to the limit....

NIce Mini!
As far as I am aware if your brakes arn't good a servo won't make the braking more effective just make it easier to push the pedal down. but then I may be wrong.

Great to see another GTS! If your Mini is running 8.4" discs and 12" wheels you shouldn't have a brake servo fitted Philip is right. A lovely set of twin HS2s will complete the car nicely

As you can see it runs with 10 inch wheels which I think look better , but problem remains with stoping ,servo with su s may be the way to go ,but very expensive

Looks good! If you're keen to take it back to stock you could consider removing the side skirts of the bodykit and swapping those arches for some original GTS arches. Andrew Shadwell (Anvil Fibreglass) in Cape Town makes these arches. I think a few people might have some Rostyles, which are the correct 10" wheels for a GTS. That said, as it is, it's a lovely looking Mini.

Now looking a little better with new wheels and tyres ,motolita steering wheel , nearly correct badging and most importantly twin SUs and a servo , what a difference it goes better but more importantly actually stops now .......

PS if any one can tell me how to post pics I will do so , seem to have forgotten how?

Got it ,files to big ....?
