Tamiya 1/24th MK1 Build
#1
Hi all.. getting back to modelling again now that the kids have grown up abit and i have more time for me again. Im no where near a pro and learning alot as i go on.
currently building the Mk1 998cc, however seeing that that are inconsistancies on colour and a few parts ill be doing a custom building, so telling me its all wrong and should be that color will fall on deaf eyes. i have the 1275 S rally aswell waiting after this build but for now lets start..

so i only started taking photos after the engine and clutch housing where stuck together... coloured the motor with XF5 matt green. then used brown and black to roughen it up abit for a more aged look...

the distributor measures 8mm long. ill be finding abit of network cable or something small to replicat the HT leads as the kit has not got that.

Lovely work, love the way that you've even replicated a bit of an oily motor.

In true A-Series style.

Nice job so far. I've built a few of these myself. Also have a couple waiting in the wings.

soooo. been busy.. added the tappet cover, oil filter. which i repainted white as there was too much black on the engine., then soomething cool, the model doesnt have HT leads, i made them up by drilling into the head and diszzy with a .25mm bit. used a stripped network cable which i bent into shape and glued them in. busy nowwith the Coil aswell and the Brake booster.. need to reseach quick on where it runs as my car doenst have one. the wiring make it look so much better. and me thinks its moerse worth it.. engine is connected to the subframe aswell and yes.. I HAVE RED CALIPERS FOR +25Kw. lol... the gunmetal looks boring. and like i said its a CUSTOM JOB so who cares. was debating about the exhaust colour as i didnt like the rusted look so went with a worth metal look.. i dirtied up the bottom on the subframe and tie rods for a more used look. and then last pic is just test fitting the sub intop the mounting points before i spray the base and engine bay. enjoy..

I'm busy with a Tamiya Ferrari F40 at the moment. Still have a Monte Mini after that to do as well.
