Hello from England

After driving many hundred of miles around your beautiful country in a GTS during the 1990s and early 2000s,  I've just bought a 1974 one here in England.  It was imported last year and has yet to be registered even though its not for road use but going to be used for hill climbs and sprints in the unmodified road going classic class.  

I know nothing of the differences (if any) between UK built Minis and those built in South Africa is I thought the best place to ask would be here. 

I was hoping to see lots of detailed pictures but it seems that the pictures somehow disappear from older posts on this forum. 

For starters, Is anyone able to explain the VIN numbering please mine is  XAD2S followed by five numbers and suffix U.  Engine number is 12HGTSH followed by four numbers.
