Hi people, I've invested in this Cooper as the price was keen and $ rate less crippling! She needs TLC as there is some surface rust, and the carbon fibre Sportspack arches need to be colour coded (in my opinion) all of which i will undertake
The mileage is 110200 kms not as shown as speedo has been replaced
She is a manual, with airconditioning, drivers airbag, has the 13"x 7J wheels, carbon fibre dash, and other bits, full factory leather, and aftermarket exhaust
If any interest please contact, as for pricing i will pin down once she is here, as not sure how much to make her 100%, hope you understand, the car will be RSA registered in your name

As I am currently the owner of a 2008 Clubman JCW,I am proud to announce I have joined your ranks of classic MINI ownership. With the purchase of a 1972 MINI non runner that has been on axle stands since 1993 when it last drove awating a restoration.
I was told it was a 850cc but have gladly been told its an 1100cc "Big bore". I look forward to bringing this old Madala back up to speed with the help of this forum!
Recently I did the seemingly only available viable option when your alternator has died.
I fitted an aftermarket alternator that brand new is cheaper than having an old Lucas alternator rebuilt go figure.
My question is which other car's alternator fits straight onto the mini that is available locally, in AUS they have the CS130 alternator from a vauxhall or something that is exactly the same and pushes 105 amp.
The bigger more important question is which j-bracket that adjusts the fan belt tension can be fitted. The one I used in the conversion I performed worked great, only problem is that I have no idea from which car is of. It seems you need a bracket that is 30-50mm longer. I have asked at the local midas etc for a universal j-bracket to no joy.
Hi , i need to hire a mini for about an hour or 2 on the 7th of January for a wedding in Cape Town, does anyone on this site ,by any chance, know someone with a mini?
Here are a few photos from a toy run that was organised by one of our members. Given the short notice, there was a decent turnout of Minis and some friends from the MG club were able to join too. Really cool run for a really good cause
When my car got banged the tie rod pulled out of the tie rod end on one side (and poked a hole in the boot which is a pain to get sorted again). Inspection shows only 3 or 4 threads were active.
I have always felt that the tie rod ends are not nicely seated into the ball joints, but could only get straight wheels by turning them almost all the way out. While rebuilding now, my new rolling chassis had sort of straight looking wheels.
After removing the drum setup and installing my 7.5" disk setup the wheels were facing out again, totally cockeyed.
After much checking and measuring, which didn't really help anything, I removed the arms and lo and behold these arms don't match the standard steering racks. They are also quite a bit chunkier.
So if you have disked hubs and arms make sure you have the matching steering rack. (I just swapped the arms)
The 10 - 12mm makes a huge difference on the wheels
