I asked my connection at Mini Spares UK about this fan, he told me to stick with the plastic fan !
Apparently these are very noisy

The 6 blade tropical fan is very noisy but they do work extremely well

The tropical fan may not be the quietest or the most efficient but it pushes the most air. I would also like one. The plastic fan moves very little air at idle. that's why most people fit electric fans. IMHO electric fans are ok in traffic but it gets in the way at high speed, blocking air.
I have removed the electric fan on my Mini and the high speed cooling is better. I have an auxiliary radiator fitted and have a small electric 7" fan fitted to that. It sorts out the stop go traffic cooling issue. I'm sure that the tropical fan will provide the required airflow when at idle in traffic so no additional fans will be required.

Dion, what rad are you using as an auxiliary rad as I'm planning on using one as well that was made to fit in behind the 3 cutouts on the lower valance of the clubman.

I'm using a Mini heater Matrix mounted behind the grill on the driver side.

Ok cool, I'd imagine that your using the heater tap near cylinder 4 as your take off or feed?
