I made some brackets up for the fibreglass bonnet so I can hopefully get the bonnet hinges to fit decently. Someone did me a favour and fitted them to the bonnet too :



Also, I'm thinking of using these spots - some cool Hella items that my dad used on one of his cars :

How did you attach the brackets to the FG bonnet? Also those spots look sweet!

I think they put some kind of epoxy on first, then put some fibreglass over them, so the brackets are sandwiched in - if that makes sense?

Right that makes sense. As far as I know they would need to surface treat the metal too so that the resin can bond to it.

I assume they did. Brackets seem sturdy enough. Time will tell I suppose.

Managed to get the bonnet fitted today. not a bad fit at all.

Been a little while and no progress. Haven't touched her at all, but I did place a MiniSpares order with the exchange rate taking a dip. Still need to get a clutch and sort out the carbs, then I can get somewhere with the motor. Also have an upgrade in store for the differential - waiting on this still.
