Then I sprayed my subframe gloss black but i feel that it should have rather been matt black as it's really really shiny now. But just something for you to think about.

Thank you for the advice on the windscreen DomMINIque, but I am holding out for one without the blue tint. I will definitely consider Sean's wheels: fortunately waiting is not an issue with this build / passion project. I got the adapter plates from Dez's Mini's.

I tried to fix my Clubman grill... not good enough, but better than some of the second hand ones I have seen recently. Any better grills out there?

   

I also cleaned the engine block with paint stripper and a copper brush. The original engine block colour was blue, but had a layer of gold and then red on top of that.

   

Plan: 1100  --> 1275 = engineers + pistons + rings + crankshaft

Another important decision made today. 1100 block will be converted to 1275. 

Bought new 1275 0.03" pistons from Sport Car Centre for less than I could get them from the UK before courier and import taxes. Exchange rate not good for my budget. The pistons and block were delivered to the engineers. They might be able to help me with a crankshaft.

   

I was able to collect odds and ends from the electroplater. 

   

   

Zinc-plated master cylinders as per the suggestion of some of this forum's members. I am amazed! Made in England, bedazzled in Pretoria!

   

Does anyone have an idea where I can have the Austin and Estate labels made. It appears to be embossed aluminium. I have approached a company which does laser engraving. Will post the results when I get the labels back.

Thank you Grimz. I can't wait to see them in the car every either! The electroplating was done at CJLM Electroplating in Pretoria. I'll place a link under preferred suppliers. The prices ranged between R100 for the ash tray cover to R320 for the timing chain cover

Unfortunately the engineers told me I need to go even larger to 40 thou pistons. I have the opportunity to change them. Any suggestions Sean1380?

But Hypatec rules the roost IMHO 73mm = 1360 73.5=1380.
