Looking for my old Mk I Cooper Ss + one other unique Mini car
Posted by: Jeremydup - 10-14-2019, 04:43 PM - Forum: General Chit Chat - Replies (1)

In the 60s and 70s through to 1991 I owned two Cooper Ss and a unique Innocenti Bertone hatchback in Durban and wonder if they are still around.  If anyone has any information I would love to hear.  Private message preferred.

The first is a 1968 Mk I Austin Cooper S - light powder blue with white roof.  It had Australian style wind-down windows and was fitted with 'Rally' mag wheels as the time.  I sold it in 1971

The second is a 1968 Mk I Morris Cooper S - originally green with a white roof, but I decided to convert it to Mk II spec in 1972 and paint it Surf blue with a white roof.  It also had Australian wind-down windows.  It had Cooper S 4 1/2 J wheels. It was fitted with twin Dellorto carburettors.  I sold it in 1991.

The third is a 1979 Innocenti 120 Bertone - red with blue interior.  Italian body on Mini subframes and 1275 engine.  Absolutely unique in South Africa.  I sold it in 1991.

See pictures below.

I miss them all and would love to hear if any are still around.

Jeremy

  New Owner: 1983 1275E

Good day fellow enthusiasts

I just purchased a 1983 1275E. I've loved these cars since I was a kid and finally managed to buy one. Overall it's in good shape but needs attention and I have very basic knowledge about working on my own cars. The most I can do is a minor service and brake pad replacement. Looking forward to learning and getting insight from the more experienced members.

Posted by: MiniDiver82 - 07-26-2019, 03:20 PM - Forum: Wanted - Mini Related - No Replies

Hi all

So found my new project but going to need some new panels.

Can anyone help finding some lower sills (both sides), roof and a clubman bonnet?

Possibly driver and passenger floor pans but have not dug that deep yet.

thanking the awesome mini community in advance. Big Grin

Hello

I'm in the process of buying my first car a 1981 mini, it is currently a non runner and I am looking for some help getting it from boksburg near Builders warehouse, to Edenvale. I don't think the breaks are functional so it will need a dolly or trailer. Any help will be appreciated, I can cover costs.collection would need to be after 6pm.

Thanks.

Hi everyone

My names Gareth I moved to Cape Town four years ago from the UK.

A 1982 Austin mini was my first car and I have been in love ever since.

Looking a starting a mini project here in SA and thought getting on to a good forum would be great to as I'm sure I will need to help finding parts at some point.

If anyone has a half finished project they would like to put up for adoption just let me know.

(I have always dreamed about doing the Haybusa conversion has anyone hear built one?)
